I love coffee and I also love a great idea so when I heard that female inmates in Fairfax, New Zealand have been learning how to make the perfect coffee behind bars during barista training it simply made me happy!
I have always supported holding people accountable, but it is also about creating change and let’s face it… The number of people who find themselves right back behind bars after they are released is not a new story.
As I see it part of the solution is in finding new and creative ways to make success stick and uplift the human condition so that incarceration or a life on the sidelines is no longer is acceptable or attractive to those who have lived in the shadows for far too long.
Bravo New Zealand and Starbucks… Any chance you can lend a helping hand here in the states?
