Forty years ago, Lawrence Herbert created a code-based system for designers to match colors and since then Pantone has become a world-famous authority on color with designers turning to the company’s annual Fashion Color Chart for inspiration.
While one might not want to be covered from head to toe in Cherry Tomato, Lime Punch, or Little Boy Blue, there is nothing like a splash of color to create a signature look. Pantone’s chart for 2018 includes 12-multifaceted and unexpected shades that are being embraced by not only the fashion world but by everyone from the bold to the beautiful and all points in between.
The 2018 Pantone Color of the Year goes to Ultra Violet, a deep, vibrant shade of purple with undertones of blue that is bold and beautiful. The violet shade is luxurious and elegant, offering an unexpectedly pop of modernity to jewelry and accessories.
