While pop culture and buzz from ‘Tinsel Town’ can often seem to overtake the airways. Today is a day to recognize the heroes both past and present who have given so much for so many in an effort to ensure safety, freedom and opportunity for this country, the United States of America, a union still in her infancy compared to many but with so much to be proud of as well as distance left to travel as we realize and secure the rights of all our citizens.
With few high profile events, parties and red carpet moments for the brave men and women who serve and have served in all branches in the military, it is not about the public adulation but about fulfilling a dream as well as keeping the collective dream alive. We as a nation have seen so much, lost so many and made such strides as a direct result of those who are in truth strangers to us yet choose to protect us as if we were their own flesh and blood.
While no parade or celebration can ever fully repay these remarkable men and women for all they have done and will continue to do in the name of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Universal Orlando Resort celebrated Veterans Day with a special parade and flag-raising ceremony to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Universal Orlando’s Veterans Network comprised of more than 400 team members were joined in the parade by representatives from all branches of the military, members of local organizations and Universal Orlando performers to commemorate the holiday.
This is a special day marked but reflection and celebration across the nation and it is also important to remember that those platforms with the power to promote our proud veterans need to take the lead from places like Universal Orlando Resort and roll out the red carpet for our true shining stars.
