In a “where’s Waldo moment, I found such joy on my recent adventure… These are few thoughts and photos as I figure out how to share it ALL with you…
There are vacations, and then there are travel adventures. While neither is better or worse, depending on the traveler’s preferences, adventure just seems to pull at my soul – and the island of Saba did just that. Known as “The Unspoiled Queen,” Saba is a dot in the Caribbean located southwest of its more famous cousin, Saint Maarten. Saba can be easily reached from there in 12 minutes by air or 90 minutes by sea. Now a Dutch holding, Saba has a certain mystique and mystery that surrounds her, much like the peaks of the rugged terrain that are often shrouded in a crown of clouds that make her true Caribbean royalty.
Saba is a gentle soul with an awareness of her unique qualities, yet she remains humble even in the face of her pristine beauty. She is a lady through and through. From the moment I stepped onto her welcoming shores, I was enveloped in a sense of belonging, a sense that I had somehow come home and reconnected with a forgotten piece of my past.
